{"id":43,"date":"2012-03-14T08:19:26","date_gmt":"2012-03-14T12:19:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/getunleashed.org\/whyMyHeadRattles\/?p=43"},"modified":"2014-09-15T12:35:09","modified_gmt":"2014-09-15T16:35:09","slug":"un-tethered","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/whymyheadrattles.com\/?p=43","title":{"rendered":"Un-Tethered"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My thoughts on James 1:11 \u00a0This is only the beginning of what one verse can truly mean. \u00a0Scripture is so powerful. \u00a0I reference James 1:9-11. \u00a0Open your Bible and read it first.<\/p>\n<p>He who dies with the most toys, still dies.\u00a0 I remember seeing the bumper sticker he who dies with the most toys wins.\u00a0\u00a0 What do they win?\u00a0 They still have the same fate to face as the person who died with not one luxury.\u00a0 In the end the things we have don&#8217;t matter.\u00a0 Only a screwed up individual would ask for his 75&#8243; tv at his death bed.\u00a0 Life happens and death happens.\u00a0 Only what&#8217;s done in the spiritual will last beyond the dash.<\/p>\n<p>They rich man and the poor man are equalized by their trials (MacArthur).\u00a0 The trials that we are to rejoice in are what erase the distance between the rich man and the poor man.\u00a0 I love the word picture of graceful countenance.\u00a0 I can picture a garden drying up and becoming colorless.\u00a0 That&#8217;s how we need to see our stuff.\u00a0 It&#8217;s nice for now, but there is no need for it in our relationship with God.\u00a0 I like how the meanings of the word take you from the larger picture to the individual picture.\u00a0 The garden\/field\/grass\/plants will\u00a0 dry up.\u00a0 The blossom with it&#8217;s graceful countenance will fall off and die.\u00a0 We can&#8217;t just think of this as meant for someone else.\u00a0 The wording is a direct challenge to each of us individually.\u00a0 How do we set our priorities?\u00a0 We need to count our trials as joy, because they get deeper than what&#8217;s on the surface and remind us that before God we are all the same.\u00a0 Before God our wealth and success don&#8217;t matter.\u00a0 It&#8217;s not like when we stand before God all that stuff will be in boxes and suitcases ready to be brought up to our new mansion.\u00a0 None of it goes with us.<\/p>\n<p>I have this picture of me standing before God with these strings attached to the back of me.\u00a0 To my head and back and legs.\u00a0 It&#8217;s hard to move closer to Him because all these things weigh me back and pull on me, but the can&#8217;t come beyond that invisible\u00a0 separation between Earth and Heaven.\u00a0 So I&#8217;m standing there and these things are pulling me backward instead of me moving closer to God.\u00a0 I need God to cut these tethers so I can move into Heaven.\u00a0 I can literally feel the scripture that it is harder for a rich man to enter the kingdom then a camel through the eye of the needle.\u00a0 I don&#8217;t want to wait until I&#8217;m standing before God to have these tethers cut off of me.\u00a0 God, please cut them now.\u00a0 Please help me release them and rejoice in my trials because they help me stand before you with humility and honesty.\u00a0 God, I can&#8217;t find glory in what I gain on this earth.\u00a0 It&#8217;s all just wind (Ecclesiastes).\u00a0 I can&#8217;t hold on to it anymore than I can to the wind.\u00a0 God, please un-tether me today, so I can fall forward on my face in your presence rather than being pulled back into the world.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My thoughts on James 1:11 \u00a0This is only the beginning of what one verse can truly mean. \u00a0Scripture is so &hellip;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/whymyheadrattles.com\/?p=43\">Continue reading &raquo;<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-43","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/whymyheadrattles.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/43","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/whymyheadrattles.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/whymyheadrattles.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/whymyheadrattles.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/whymyheadrattles.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=43"}],"version-history":[{"count":3,"href":"http:\/\/whymyheadrattles.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/43\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":112,"href":"http:\/\/whymyheadrattles.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/43\/revisions\/112"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/whymyheadrattles.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=43"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/whymyheadrattles.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=43"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/whymyheadrattles.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=43"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
